About Min

Min Sun Chung, DAOM, L.Ac., RN is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, a nationally certified Diplomate of Acupuncture, and a Virginia licensed acupuncturist,. She graduated from the Maryland University of Integrative Health (formerly known as Tai Sophia Institute for Healing Arts) in MD, the oldest Five Element Acupuncture school in the U.S. She has Master's degrees in Acupuncture, and Oriental Medicine and a DAOM degree from the Virginia University of Integrative Medicine. Min received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing from George Mason University. She has worked at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church and Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington. As a registered nurse working in the Intensive Care Unit and caring for patients who were extremely ill and critical throughout their medical treatment, she began exploring complementary medicine where there would be bigger emphasis on preventive and holistic care. Having lived in places around the world in the Middle East and Asia where she had witnessed people receiving acupuncture for various reasons, she looked for a Chinese Medicine practitioner to receive acupuncture treatments. She experienced noticeable improvements in her body, discovered profound wisdom that the traditional medicine of acupuncture offers, and benefited from lasting effects of the treatments. She decided to enroll in the programs to extend and offer what she has received. She pursued extensive studies and training focused on ancient healing traditions integrated with contemporary biomedicine understanding to treat the whole person that has complex and dynamic interrelationships, and continues her life-long passion of learning by engaging in on-going professional scholarship.
She has served as a clinician for American Health Care Professionals of VA, which provides comprehensive, patient-centered model inclusive of: Home Health, Hospice, Telehealth, and Wellness Programs. She appreciates the integration of East and West approaches in serving the community, and is a volunteer medical provider at Loudoun Free Clinic. She is certified as a NADA (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association) specialist, also in Zero Balancing, Usui and Karuna Reiki®, and training in the Atma Buti® Himalayan Sound Healing Method. She has practiced at the Nature Care Center at Maryland University of Integrative Health, in Silver Spring, MD. and Washington, D.C. She currently has a private practice in Herndon, VA.
